Join us for a special event focused on student community and leadership!

On behalf of The Legacy Group Online and the Office of Admissions we invite you to mark your calendars for the Student Community Leadership Conference scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026. Hosted on the campus of the University of Kansas in the Memorial Union 1301 Jayhawk Blvd, Lawrence, KS 66045.

The goal of the Student Community Leadership Conference (SCLC) is designed to provide student leaders with an interactive and engaging leadership experience that will provide a forum on the value of community in our schools. This interactive experience will also provide participants with a basic understanding of what responsibility we have in fostering an inclusive environment.

This year we are honored to present Mr. Elijah Dormeus. From the humble beginnings of Harlem, NY, to coordinating a mission of mental wellness for youths in underserved communities, Elijah N. Dormeus is a dynamic leader driven by a fervent passion for purpose, healing, and growth. At the tender age of seven, Elijah recognized his life was destined for greatness, even in the face of his father's tragic passing. As one of nine children, he spent his adolescence actively participating in the Harlem Children’s Zone, a New York-based organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. After high school, Elijah's dreams led him to Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated in the spring of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. His unwavering commitment to serving those in need of guidance gave birth to the I AM Foundation—a nonprofit organization with a mission to lead, encourage, and motivate at-risk youth and those in underserved communities to see themselves as greater than their circumstances. Now dedicating his life to the wellness of youth, Elijah helps them discover their purpose and learn that they are greater than their circumstances. His ever-growing mission of purpose, healing, and cultivating growth is a revival in the making, transforming lives and fostering a brighter future for all.

Each school staff/faculty must register their group; group leaders will need to provide a list of participating students in advance. Space is limited, so register soon! There is no registration fee, but please note that a cancellation fee for no shows will be assessed to the sponsoring high school. To ensure your group's registration, please wait for a confirmation email from KU.
